My name is Emma and I founded Bury St Edmunds Counselling in 2005. I’m guessing that you are feeling that you may need some help and someone to talk to who is not involved in your day to day life.
It may be that you are feeling depressed with life, suffering anxiety or have symptoms of OCD which you would like to stop interfering with your life. It may be that you are in a relationship which you want to make work, but there are never ending arguments or disagreements. Anger may be an issue for you and worrying about your temper and its effect on your loved ones. You may have suffered a terrible loss or need some help to gain self esteem and confidence.
Sometimes family and close friends can give you support, but help in working out the answers and a way forward can be more difficult.
Counselling is a way that you can look at your situation differently, develop the coping strategies and tools that you need to make life enjoyable again.
Counselling can also help you work out who you are and sometimes it can feel like you lived your entire life on a day to day basis without really getting to know who you really are.
